Hi, I'm Jennifer Jenkins-Boitnott, LPC and I started running this group in 2024. I am in private practice in Richmond, VA and am an EMDRIA EMDR Consultant.
About the group:
The group started many years ago (before I was in it) for local EMDR therapists to get together, have lunch, and connect to discuss EMDR cases and strategies. The group was started by Terry Becker-Fritz, who for many years provided EMDR Basic Training in the Richmond area. I started attending this group when it was an in person and word of mouth event, and I was very green in my EMDR knowledge. I attended frequently over the years and as my EMDR skills grew I started testing out my teaching skills and presented at several of the quarterly trainings. When Terry retired, I was fortunate to inherit the group from her at the end of 2023.
The community is primarily EMDR therapists in Virginia (a lot in Richmond) and a few dispersed in other locations who have connections to Richmond, Terry or Jennifer.
Our group is an intentional space to foster professional connection, networking, and support in an inclusive and accessible environment. This collaboration fosters growth for current and future EMDR therapists in our community. Together, we create opportunities for meaningful engagement, shared learning, and mutual support cultivating a network where individuals can thrive, exchange knowledge, and build lasting professional relationships.
What we Do:
- Free, Monthly, peer EMDR consultation meetings run by myself or another experienced EMDR therapist.
- These are held on the last Wednesday of the month @ 12-1pm EST (Months with holidays I will move it to a more optimal week)
- Read the group rules here
- These meetings do not count for EMDRIA certification/CIT consultation hours as they do not meet the structure and ratios necessary
- You're welcome to attend as you're able to. Each month I will send out a registration link to RSVP for the upcoming meeting. After you register, zoom will automatically send you the link to join.
- Low-cost, quarterly EMDRIA approved continuing education presentations on zoom
- All presentations are 2 hours (2 CE)
- Topics vary and we're always looking for presenters and topics of interest.
- Registration and additional information about each presentation is sent out as the trainings are scheduled/closer to the dates of the events.
- List serve to connect for EMDR client referrals and/or consultation
- Reach out to everyone in the group with an email any time you need a referral or are seeking a consultant
- The list-serve is a great way to quickly connect with others in the group and tap into the wealth of knowledge and information we all have
